Sydney Blog Meet at the Lindt Cafe, Darling Harbour.
The talented Dani & Dani (that’s Dani from Danimezza and Dani from Hello Owl) sure know how to throw a meet up.
Excellent location? Tick.
Surrounded by great people? Tick.
Constantly supplied with high quality chocolate? Tick.
Random bunny ears? Tick.
Fireworks at the end of the night? Double tick.
Sure, those fireworks just happened to be a part of the Harbourside Fireworks schedule, but it was perfect timing and a spectacular show (if only a touch loud).
Rewind to half way through the week and I had no plans for Saturday. That all changed when Danimezza posted an update to the Sydney Blog Meet event on facebook. After some reshuffling, it was decided it was going to be held at the Lindt Cafe in Darling Harbour.
To make the meet up even sweeter (see what I did there?) – Nuffnang were our official sponsors, meaning that they would subsidise some of our chocolate addiction. With the Aussie Bloggers Conference fast approaching, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put some faces to some blogs before the event.
Rah, Leigh and I turned up super early and loitered around in the cafe for far too long. Eventually we figured out that the giant reserved table was for our group, so we made ourselves at home.
It didn’t take long for the table to fill up with happy chocolate-loving bloggers. We started with drinks and I couldn’t go past the ‘plain’ milk iced chocolate.

I’m sad to say that I gave up at around the half way point – it was just too rich for me!
Our special guests (all the way from Brisbane) were Hello Owl (Dani) and her lovely baby Violet. I must admit, I was warming to this cute little baby with her chubby legs and beautiful smile. I even started to think that maybe babies weren’t so bad after all!

It was towards the end of the night when my ideas of happy, quiet, non messy babies were shattered when Violet greeted me with some baby projectile vomit. Still, she was one of the happiest, most easygoing babies I’ve ever met.
(As a side note: Is projectile vomit one of those things you get used to with being a parent? Dani didn’t even flinch! I was in awe of her calmness.)
There were little bowls of easter eggs for everyone to share.

And let’s not forget the tasting plates we were provided with. This was just the Macaron / Delice plate, there was also a cake plate and a chocolate plate. Now you can see the reason why I couldn’t finish my iced chocolate.

Meet Tony – supervisor extraordinaire. He catered to our every need – and always with a smile, despite the fact that we were there during peak hour chocolate time and I’m sure he had much better things to attend to at times!

The talking, eating and drinking lasted well into the night – it was 9pm before we left, and there were still plenty of bloggers sitting and chatting.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that someone will put up a list of all the attendees so I can remember all the names and addresses again, but until then I’ll just have to say that they all seemed like lovely people. Check out the list of attendees below!

I should also apologise to anyone who thinks I’m not capable of holding a conversation. All the sugar I consumed meant that I couldn’t last for more than about 2 minutes before being distracted by something shiny / more chocolate / someone else’s conversation / Dani’s adorable baby.
Lesson learnt for next time: eat something substantial before pigging out on chocolate.

Wow! Think I’ve found my favourite AusBlogCon attendee layout/design. Your blog is sensational! Great photos, and yum; that iced coffee looks like I could grab it from within my laptop! Looking forward to reading more posts; so glad to have found you :)
Thanks again Kimberley! My husband designed the logo for me, and I designed the layout to suit.
