Little Bloggy Blood Drive Wrap Up
Saturday afternoon Fiona, Laura, Leigh and I arrived at the blood service and were greeted by this little sign:

and then this little face…

What a way to start the afternoon!
As I was unable to donate due to sickness, I picked Laura and tried to document her process from start to finish.

Here she is with Fiona, filling out forms…

Taking advantage of the free biscuits…

Having her quick pre-donation interview… (I wasn’t allowed to sit in on that one!)

Here’s a photo of Fiona’s bag that I took while I was waiting for her to return.

Leigh (speed donater) getting comfortable and preparing for her PB donating time (she managed to do it in just over 5 minutes! Not that it’s a race, of course.)

Laura getting comfortable while her paperwork is triple-checked.

And the nurse starts to look for a vein…
…And that is where the photos end, because Laura’s veins didn’t want to play nice on the day :P
Note to self: always follow the speed donater, there’s no chance of anything going wrong!
Thank you so much to Fiona, Laura and Leigh – I really appreciated you guys taking the time to donate (or attempt to donate – the thought was there!!).
I would really encourage everyone that is eligible to donate blood. It only takes an hour out of your day, and blood is always needed.
I’ve made the decision at this point in time there will be no more ‘Little Bloggy Blood Drive’ events. It takes a lot of organisation to bring one together, and there seem to be few people that are eligible and willing to give blood at the moment.
Instead, I’ll be posting when I’ll be donating blood, and inviting anyone free to join me on that day. I won’t be organising group bookings, RSVP lists, etc – everyone will be responsible for their own donation. I hope you will still join me and encourage others to donate. It really is worthwhile.

Thank you Tiff. I hope when I next donate they’ll let me give plasma. Fingers crossed! :)
You’re a sweetheart for organising that. For medical reasons I’m unable to donate anymore … why not visit Curly Pops blog she’s always looking for donors etc … you’re fabulous!

Thanks Cherie!
I’m always happy to donate by myself, am just hoping to get people that wouldn’t normally think about doing it to come along :)
Only just read this (cos I found my pics from lunch!) I wanna try again soon!
